Amaya increases revenue by 519%, sells Ongame network

The revenues of the Canadian company who recently acquired PokerStars and Full Tilt blew up in the third financial quarter of the year, and they have decided to sell the Ongame network to NYX Gaming Group.

According to the third quarter financial report, Amaya revenues have increased by 519%, which includes the revenues generated by Full Tilt and PokerStars.

The revenues were C$239 million, and 208 million of this was generated by the new companies. The companies costs have also increased by 530% to 214 million, so the company actually lost $17.6 million in the quarter, but this is no surprise given the costs of the acquisition.

Amaya didn't say what kind of revenues each of their rooms generated, but David Baazov, the CEO of Amaya said that ''he couldn't be happier with the performance of the new business and the PokerStars team''. Baazov expects yearly revenues of $669-$715 million.

Baazov made no comments regarding the rumour that Amaya is planning to purchase bwin.party, and he also declined commenting on the PokerStars New Jersey license that has been delayed for months.

Amaya also announced that they are selling the Ongame network to the NYX Gaming Group.

It's interesting to note that the two companies have a partnership in New Jersey, NYX has made an agreement with the Resorts Casino Hotel in Atlantic City, which is the same casino that PokerStars has closed a deal with last year.

In New Jersey, if an online gambling company wants to provide online poker, they have to have an agreement with a local casino, and it looks like Amaya wants to start online casino right away when they get their license.

Baazov also talked about the mobile platform players: according to him, 50% of the active players play Spin&Gos, and in the third quarter more than 50% of new registrations came from mobile platforms, which is a 10% improvement on the 2013 statistics.

In the UK this number is even higher, one third of the new registrations came from mobile platforms.

Baazov also stated that the Full Tilt casino games are successful and that 30% of the poker players have tried a casino game. The web and mobile version of the casino will launch in 2015, and according to Amaya, their sports betting and casino services could interest between 45%-60% of poker players.
