ChicagoJoey launches 750 day PLO marathon on Twitch

Joe "ChicagoJoey" Ingram wants to make Pot Limit Omaha more popular and has decided to start a daily PLO stream on Twitch to promote the game. He currently plans to host the stream for an astonishing 750 days.

As we have previously reported, Jason "JCarver" Somerville, a player with $3.9 million in live and $2.2 in online tournament winnings, became a member of Team PokerStars. The young American player had a series of successful strategy videos, but he was mostly signed because of his huge popularity on the Twitch streaming portal, after joining PokerStars Somerville announced that he will stream his poker playing every day for 70 days.

Joe "ChicagoJoey" Ingram has announced a similar daily Twitch stream, the only difference is that he is going to run his stream for 750 days!

Ingram gave a short description of his motivations and plans to Nutblocker:

"The 750 day challenge is my attempt to stream PLO content on twitch for 750 days!!!! in a row!! With Twitch going the direction that it is, I want to help get the wonderful game of PLO out there to as many people as I can. I think it is such a fun game and that many others will feel the same about it. I was motivated to do it because I saw guys like JCarver and Jamie Staples putting in some really sick work ethic when it came to streaming and I pride myself on being one of the sickest grinders in poker when it comes to work ethic."

Ingram is one of the most popular online personalities in poker, his PokerLife podcast guests included players like Dan "jungelman12" Cates, Cole "cts" South, Daniel Negreanu, Jason Koon and more.

Ingram is also looking for a female PLO player that he plans to coach and do live streams on Twitch with. He has already played a HUPLO match with "WildHungarian", the girlfriend of poker pro James "TheDrunkLife" Whittet who recently started poker. Despite the fact that "WildHungarian" plays 6max hyper SNGs, it's very likely that she is Ingram's PLO coaching/streaming candidate.

When Nutblocker asked about the possible "side effects" of his stream, he said the following:

" I was a bit hesitant about Twitch at first, I am not in favor of people giving out free strategy that they worked hard for years to acquire. I don’t think this will be a big issue at PLO specifically as I do not see many players that play 1/2 and up streaming and giving out high quality strategy while doing it. Verve is going to be streaming but he hasn’t really gotten into in depth strat on the way he plays and I don’t think he plans to. It looks as if poker is really going in the direction of “lets make everyone better for free”. Most of the people streaming NL say “well there is so much NL content out there, it doesnt matter if I stream it also”. That is probably true for the most part but as more people adopt that attitude about it, the small stakes games will become worse and worse. Hopefully the potential influx of new players Twitch might provide can counteract that some but I don’t think we will ever be able to really know for sure."
