Donger Kim vs. TCfromUB high stakes heads-up challenge

Dong "Donger Kim" Kim disagreed with Nick "TCfromUB" Frame's Heads-up No Limit power rankings and challenged him to play heads-up. The two players will play 15,000 hands on $25/$50 limits with a $15,000 sidebet. The first session went down yesterday and ended with Donger Kim being a $20,000 winner.

The number of heads-up challenges has decreased a lot in the past 2 years, but this is about to change. Dong "Donger Kim" Kim challenged Nick "TCfromUB" Frame because he didn't agree with the latters high stakes heads-up No Limit power rankings (which you can see below in a screenshot from the ChicagoJoey podcast).

Donger wanted to play on $100/$200 stakes for 15,000 hands with a $50,000 side bet, but TCfromUB declined because of the high stakes.

The two players managed to agree on a 15,000 hand challenge which will be played at the $25/$50 tables with a $15,000 side bet.

The challenge created a lot of buzz in the poker community, Mike "timex" McDonald and Dan "KingDan" Smith were amongst the players who already made bets on the challenge.

In the same forum topic Asianflushie agreed to a heads-up challenge against Doug "WCGRider" Polk, but the details will only be published after the Donger vs. Frame challenge is finished.

The first session was scheduled to be played on Thursday but PokerStars decided to sponsor the challenge and create special tables for the players, so the match was delayed for one day.

According to an official statement, both players have agreed to play at least five sessions a week with each session lasting at least 1,000 hands. Players have a chance to change this based on a mutual agreement or can quit if they are down seven buy-ins in one session. Play has to run on at least 3 tables, both players can give up at any point which automatically results in losing the side bet. Run It Twice option is permitted, in case of a dispute, the judges, Raul (RaulGonzalez on PokerStars, SanIker on Full Tilt), Ike Haxton and Alex "Kanu7" Millar will make a decision.

The two heads-up specialists played their first session from Friday evening which was followed live on the joeingram1 podcast, where guests Doug "WCGRider" Polk and Jason Mo also shared their thoughts on the challenge.

Donger Kim finished up $20,364 after 1,059 hands, TCfromUB posted the following graph on the forums.
