15 players returned for Day 5 of the EPT Grand Final, the plan for the day was to play down to the best 6. The chip leader was Johhny Lodden with 2.293.000 chips but Adrian Mateos, Ole Schemion and Christopher ''lissi stinkt'' Frank were also still in.

The first elimination of the day was Tom Hall, he shoved his short stack with 7-6 from the small blind but failed to improve after Dmitry Ivanov called him with Q-J.

He was soon followed by Anton Astapau (A6<AK vs. Mateos), Romain Paon, then we saw a double elimination during Level 24 (12k/24k/3k ante)

Ivanov raised to 52,000 from UTG, Juan Martin Pastor 3bet to 115,000 and Mateos cold 4bet to 250,000. Frank in the big blind shoved all-in for 407,000, Ivanov folded and Pastor shoved for 495,000 total. Mateos thought for a while, but then decided he had to call.

Showdown:

Pastor: A-A
Frank: K-K
Mateos:Q-Q

The board came T-4-2-Q-7 to send Pastor and Frank packing, while Mateos increased his stack to 2.712.000.

The final 10 sat together after the elimination of Lyndon Basha, who check/raised all-in with A-K on a 6-4-3 flop and was snapped off by Hady El Asmar's 33.

With 9 players remaining, Jose Carlos Garcia went on a tear, he doubled up against Mateos and against Nozaki and then tangled with Ivanov.

Garcia 3bet then 5bet jammed with KJ suited against Ivanov's raise and 4bet, and Ivanov called it off with Q-Q. The board ran out A-8-J-K-8 and Ivanov was left short stacked, losing the rest of his chips with 5-5 against Mateos' 8-8 not much later.

With that, the official final table was set, but play was scheduled to go on until two more players busted. After just eight hands, Koichi Nozaki shoved with A-T from UTG, Schemion called in the big blind with T-T and the Japanese player couldn't improve his hand on the 5-K-2-8-9 board.

The final elimination of the day took place shortly after the dinner break, Markus Ross 3bet shoved with A-Q from the small blind for 27 big blinds over Mateos' cutoff raise, but unfortunately for him, Muhyedine Fares woke up with Aces in the big blind.

The board ran out K-7-Q-8-J and Ross was eliminated in sixth place.

The final table will be live streamed from 14:00 CET today with revealed hole cards, check it out below!
