EPT 11 Grand Final - Steve O'Dwyer leads €25,500 High Roller
A total of 160 players registered for the €25,500 buy-in EPT Grand Final High Roller and with registration open until the start of Day 2, the event could break records. The chip leader after Day 1 is Steve O'Dwyer and the remaining field of 89 is stacked with stars aswell, including Tony Gregg, Max Altergott, Daniel Negreanu, Scott Seiver, €100,000 Super High Roller winner Erik Seidel, Mike "timex" McDonald, Dan Colman and Fabian Quoss just to name a few. Today players will play 10 blind levels or down to 8 players, whichever comes first.
Steve O'Dwyer has some nice memories from the Grand Final, having won the title in 2013 after defeating a finale that is often called "the greatest EPT final table ever".
O'Dwyer jumped into the chip lead in one of the final hands of the day, he check/raised all-in on a T-6-5 (two hearts) board with A-Q and was called by David Dayan's J-J. O'Dwyer missed the turn but hit a Queen on the river to send Dayan packing.
There are plenty of big names still in the field, the plan for the day is to play down to the final 8 or to play 10 blind level, whichever comes first.
