Fedor Holz wins $100,000 WPT Alpha8 Bellagio for $1,589,219
Fedor ''CrownUpGuy'' Holz won the last Alpha8 tournament of 2015, he defeated a tough final table that included high roller specialist Nick Petrangelo, Daniel Negreanu, Ankush Mandavia and David Peters.
The final Alpha8 of the year ran between December 18 - 20 at the Bellagio casino in Las Vegas. The $100,000 buy-in tournament attracted 45 entries, creating a $4,414,500 prizepool. On Sunday the 8-handed final table started with 2014 WCOOP Main Event champ Fedor Holz in the lead.
Chipcount

Kathy Lehne - 1.255.000
Ankush Mandavia - 765.000
David Peters - 555.000
There were 7 paying spots in the tournament so players started off cautiously, in the end it was David Peters who finished as the bubble boy.
Peters shoved with A-J for 345,000 over Holz's raise of 120,000 during Level 18 (25,000/50,000-5,000 ante), unfortunately for him, he was snapped off by Holz's AK and he couldn't improve.
Keith Tilston was the first player to be eliminated after the bubble, he 4bet shoved with J-J against Negreanu's 8-8 but the Canadian pro managed to hit the two-outer.
Kathy Lehne was eliminated in 6th place after her A-5 didn't manage to improve against Sean Winter's A-K, she was soon followed by Mandavia who lost his chips with T-T against Petrangelo's 8-8.
During 4-handed play Holz increased his lead, then Petrangelo doubled up through Negreanu, who was left short-stacked. Despite this, the next player to be eliminated was Sean Winter, he lost with A-T against Petrangelo's 7-7 in a preflop all-in.
The heads-up was set with the elimination Negreanu, he shoved with K-3 from the button, Petrangelo called with Q-J and hit two pair on the J-9-4-Q-6 board.
Fedor Holz – 9.375.000
Nick Petrangelo – 4.125.000
During Level 22 (80,000/160,000-20,000 ante) Holz limped on the button, then called Petrangelo's shove of 3,600,000. Holz showed 5-5 and Petrangelo needed to improve his A-Q to double up, but he couldn't get there on the J-3-2-4-9 board.
With that, Fedor ''CrownUpGuy'' Holz won $1,589,219 and added another impressive title to his poker resumé.
