Lance Cord Garcia wins The Colossus for $638,880

The biggest live tournament ever organized, the $565 buy-in The Colossus wrapped up yesterday with young American pro Lance Cord Garcia defeating Bradley McFarland in heads-up play to claim his first bracelet and the $638,880 first place prize.

Event #5, the $565 buy-in The Colossus started with Aditya Prasetyo in the chip lead, sitting behind almost a third of the chips in play. The favorite to win was however Kenny ''SpaceyFCB'' Hallaert, who was sitting second in chips.

Play started on Level 37 (200k/400k-50k ante) and on Hand 6, there was already an elimination. McFarland opened to 850,000 from UTG  with 6-6 and Blanda shoved for 3.7 million with J-T from the hijack. Blanda failed to improve his hand and was eliminated in 9th.

Farber finished in 8th, Simms finished in 7th and not much later Prasetyo, who lost a big flip with A-K suited against Lentz's 5-5 earlier, was also eliminated.

McFarland raised to 1.7 million on Level 40 (400k/800k-100k ante), Prasetyo shoved for 12.65 million. Henson re-raised all-in from the big blind and McFarland called all-in.

McFarland showed K-K, Henson had Q-Q and Prasetyo had A-9 suited. McFarland's hand held up and he increased his stack to 47 million, Henson was left with 20 million and Prasetyo was eliminated in 6th.

During the same blind level, Henson raised to 1.6 million from UTG, Hallaert shoved for 8.275 million with T-T and Henson called with 4-4. A four on the river sent Hallaert packing in fifth place, for which he received $182.348.

Lentz was eliminated in fourth place and heads-up play started with the elimination of Henson.

Heads-up started on Level 41 (500k/1 million-150k ante) and the battle only lasted 16 hands. In the final hand Garcia opened to 3 million and McFarland called. On the flop of Q-4-2 with two diamonds, McFarland check/called Garcia's bet of 4.1 million, then check/called Garcia's bet of 8.4 million when an offsuit deuce hit the turn.

The river was the 7 of diamonds, McFarland checked for the third time, Garcia bet 17.5 million, McFarland shoved and Garcia called with 4-4. McFarland turned over A-8 for Ace high and was eliminated in second, winning $386.253.
