New Jersey Priest Claims He Collected Child Porn to Revenge God for Poker Losses

Many major news organizations wrote about this story that originally was reported by the Associated Press: Rev. Kevin Gugliotta, a Catholic priest who was serving at the Holy Spirit Church in Union, NJ was sentenced to jail for collecting and disseminating child porn. According to pretrial reports and his defense attorney he did what he did to revenge God for running bad at poker tournaments and cash games.

Kevin Gugliotta has over $200,000 in live tournament earnings according to the Hendon Poker Database. He's also a man of God, he was serving as a vicar in a Union, NJ congregation.

Now he can add convicted sex offender to that list, since he was sentenced to 11½ to 23 months in the Wayne County jail after pleading guilty to disseminating child pornography. He was collecting the underaged porn on his laptop in his PA vacation home, that's why he was sentenced in that state.

His defense attorney confirmed that his motive was to get revenge on God himself for the poker losses he had recently. His last tourney cash comes from September 2016, so he's been having an almost year-long dry spell by now - and it's only going to grow longer as he has to serve his time in prison. The 55-year-old man is also going to be on the sex offenders' registry for 25 years at least.
