Player registers for $125 tournament, gets seated in $25,000 High Roller and eliminates three top pros before disqualification

The Aria Casino held a $25,000 High Roller tournament on Saturday and because of a cashier mistake, a player that registered for a daily $125 event was seated in the tournament. He went on to bust Jason Mercier, Tom Marchese and Jake Schindler before Aria staff realized their mistake and removed him from the tournament.

While the WSOP is running the $565 Colossus for players looking to win huge with a small investment, Aria Casino has organized a tournament for players with a deeper pocket, the $25,000 High Roller on May 29.

The tournament was filled with stars of the poker world, but most of the attention is now on an unknown player who participated in the tourney.

Aria Casino has organized a $125 Deepstack tournament on the same day, and an amateur player who registered for the event received a wrong receipt and was seated in the $25,000 tournament, and decided he might aswell play if he already has a seat.

The player who is currently on referred to as "Curly" played for seven hours in the tournament, eliminating Jason Mercier, Jake Schindler and Tom Marchese.

At that point the casino staff realized a mistake has been made and the player was removed from the tournament, while the three eliminated pros received compensations of $3,000-$5,000.

Jake Schindler bought a re-entry and eventually finished in the top 3, winning $147.600.

The casino has banned the player from MGM properties, further details are currently unknown.
