SanIker wins huge to overcome Phil Ivey and earn November's biggest winner title

As we have previously reported, the driving force behind the action at the online high-stakes tables in November was Phil "Polarizing" Ivey, he was up $900,000 roughly one week before the end of the month. In the final week, unidentified German player SanIker showed up at the tables, and won more than $1 million to become the biggest winner of the month.

In the first three weeks of the month, Phil "Polarizing" Ivey managed to build a profit of more than $900,000, decreasing his yearly losses of $2.5 million by plenty.

It was German player SanIker however who claimed the top spot, he won more than $1 million in 11,000 hands. He mostly played at the 2-7 Triple Draw tables. The unidentified player is known for playing with huge variance, he has had several $1 million swings throughout the year, in October he lost more than $1.2 million. With his successful November he is back to roughly breaking even.

The second place on the monthly profit list belongs to EireAbu with $640,000 in winnings (12,000 hands). He won the most in 8-game ($350,000) but was also profitable in PLO ($162,000) and draw games ($127,000). EireAbu debuted on the Omaha tables last year, won a huge amount of money, then went on a $1.3 million downswing, and hasn't played a lot since, but this months performance shows that he is definitely a very skilled player.

Third place finisher was Phil Ivey, who dropped some of his profits, but still ended up with $600,000. The fourth place finisher is Russian pro Vladimir "GVOZDIKA55" Schemelev with $454,000 in winnings and the top 5 is rounded out by bbvisbadforme ($448,000).

For the first time in months, Gus Hansen is not the biggest loser of the month (in face he made around $60,000 in profit in a few short sessions), that title goes to AthaCliath, who lost $327,000 in 2.800 hands.

Denoking (known on PokerStars as wilhasha) won the biggest pot of the month against Ben "Bttech86" Tollerene. The two players clashed at the $200/$400 NLHE Heads-up tables, and the hand started with Denoking raising to $1,000 and Bttech re-raising to $3,600.

Bttech86 then checked three times and called each bet by Denoking ($8,400 on the flop, $27,600 on the turn, and a $46,000 effective all-in shove on the end) on the Q-8-T-4-2 board. Denoking showed Q-T for top two pair and scooped the $171,916 pot.

The biggest winner of the year is still Daniel "jungleman12" Cates with $2.8 million in winnings, with Mikael "punting-peddler" Thuritz in second place, and these two players are the most likely to be the biggest winners of the year, the next one on the list is Patrik "FinddaGrind" Antonius with $1.5 million and December is generally pretty slow at the high stakes tables.
