Spin & Go TV Show to be aired in France

While players are doing everything they can to make PokerStars remove the recently introduced Spin & Go tournaments, PokerStars has announced a new TV show revolving around the format, called Spin & Go Show.

The introduction of the Spin & Go format has been one of the most controversial by PokerStars throughout the years. In these "lottery Sit&Go" tournaments players can win huge sums of money with small investmentsm which is very appealing to recreational players, but the professionals hate it because of the huge variance involved. PokerStars will also increase the rake of Spin & Gos starting today, and the maximum multiplier is increased from x1000 to x3000, which further increases the variance even further.

Regulars at PokerStars have started petitions to get PokerStars to remove the format. They believe that the variance makes the game pretty much unbeatable even for pros, and plenty of traffic from the cash game and Sit & Go tables has transferred to Spin & Gos which hurts the professionals even more.

Recreational players love Spin & Gos however, so PokerStars has no plans of removing the format and even tries to make it more appealing for recreational players by increasing the multipliers.

PokerStars has announced the launching of the Spin & Go Show on the French NRJ 12 channel, which will air every night in November. The live format is the same, three players play a winner takes all match, the multipliers will be determined by a lottery-wheel, the biggest possible prize is €10,000. The format will be quick, according to the plans each game will last 5-10 minutes.

Players can qualify online for the show, they have to play a certain number of real money Spin & Go tournaments, for which they will receive a ticket to the online final. The top finishers in the online final will qualify for the show, and if the show proves to be a success, it could likely hit the international channels aswell.
