Supernova Elite in 52 days - New record by Martijn "Quadchrazs" Ardon

Dutch player Martijn "Quadchrazs" Ardon became the first player to reach 1 million VPPs and the Supernova Elite VIP level in 2015, and he managed to best Andrew "azntracker" Li's 2011 record of 59 days by a week, even after suffering from health issues for a couple of days.

Quadchrazs is an SNG specialist who is known for playing insane amounts of Sit n Gos, in 2013 he successfully completed a prop bet where he played 30,000 Sit n Gos in one month at $60+ stakes while still earning profits from the tables.

It took Quadchrazs 52 days to achieve the highest VIP level on PokerStars, but he still wasn't satisfied with his performance.

He wanted to be SNE by February 15 but he had some health issues that slowed down his pace a little. According to Ardon, he was a bit lazy in 2014 and decided to grind hard this year. In the first three days of the year he played huge sessions, and after he saw that he was leading the SNE Leaderboard, he decided to keep going. He checked what the previous record was and decided to try to best it, he mainly played $100 6-max hyper SNGs to do so.

Each of these SNGs award 20 VPPs, which means he played around 1.000 SNGs every day, and even managed to make 10,000 VPPs when he caught a stomach illness.

Quadchrazs played roughly 50.000 games and almost 1 million hands before he reached SNE.

According to him, he mostly got up around noon and went to sleep at 6 in the morning. He played four 3-hour sessions every day, he mostly played the 6-max hyper games but when the $60 Spin and Gos became available on PokerStars, he had to play longer sessions and add Fifty50 SNGs and hyper satellites.

Spin and Gos were very popular in this period but he didn't feel the drive to learn a new game during his insane VPP hunt. He has stated that while most people find SNGs boring, the game is much more complex then it looks and that you have to pay attention to a lot of things to be successful.
