WSOP 2014 Event #57 - Dan Colman Wins Big One, Negreanu 2nd

The last day of the WSOP Event #57 The $1.000.000 Big One for One Drop was held on July 1, and since only 8 places paid, the 9 remaining players had continue play at the bubble. Rick Salomon lead the field, who is not mainly known for his poker career; he is currently the husband of Pamela Anderson - they remarried this year - and he was in relationships with several female celebrities as well, Salamon stars the infamous Paris Hilton sextape too.

The favourite Salomon was chased by Tobias Reinkemeier, Dan "mrgr33n13" Colman and Daniel Negreanu.

Dealing started on the 21st blind level (300,000/600,000-75,000), and as it was mentioned, the first player to be eliminated had to leave the table empty handed, while the next one would take $1,306,667, a sour difference for the bubble boy. The Macau regular and wealthy businessman Tom Hall didn't wait too much, he went all-in with 7.7 million preflop from the hijack. Negreanu went rereaise all-in after a minute of tanking, all the others folded.

Hall became the bubble boy, he left with lots of experience and an empty hand.

With Hall's elimination, the official final table started. Newey clearly felt he has more air to breathe now that he surely takes home at least $1.3 million, therefore he started to raise all-in and he managed to double up two times, first with A-J against Negreanu's K-9, then with nines against Reinkemeier's A-K.

In the 9th hand of the final, Negreanu opened to 1.2 million from hijack, Katz went all-in to 7,450,000, Negreanu snap-called. The PokerStars pro showed pocket jacks, Katz pocket eights, and his hand didn't improve on the board; Katz finished 8th.

In the 13th hand, Seiver opened to 1.2 million, only Reinkemeier called. The flop came 4 Q 2. Reinkemeier checked, Seiver opened to 1.5 million, Reinkemeier called. On the J turn Rinkemeier checked again, to which Seiver pushed all-in to 6,825,000. The german tanked for at least 3 minutes, then stood up, sat back down, watched Seiver's face for tells, scratched his head, and another few minutes passed by. Reinkemeier seemed totally unable to make a decision. The clock was called, and he folded eventually when only seconds remained.

"I had aces" - said Reinkemeier. "You couldn't have aces..." -replied Seiver. Reinkemeier reached for his folded cards and showed a pair of aces. Seiver showed a bluff Ks Ts.

A few hands later Vogelsang doubled up on Colman's A-T with A-Q, the German took the lead, but not by much.

On the 22nd blind level (400,000/800,000-100,000) another elimination took place. Newey got all-in extremely short-stacked, Salomon and Seiver called. On the 2 7 K flop Salomon raised seiver out, Newey and Salomon went to showdown:

Salomon took the pot with a flush, Newey finished 7th.

In the 35th hand Negreanu opened to 1.6 million, only Seiver called. The flop came 9 9:J T. Negreanu checked, Seiver bet 2 million, Negreanu raised all-in, Seiver called to 10,375,000.

Reinkemeier finished 5th, Negreanu took all his chips, then Salomon went all-in after it was folded to him in the small blind. Colman called with A-T, and as the flop brought T-T-x, Salomon's pocket eights couldn't improve, he was out.

In the 3-handed game, Vogelsang started to bleed chips, by the 24th level (600,000/1,200,000-200,000) he only had 3,775,000. Vogelsang finally pushed all-in with A 4, both of his opponents called. Negreanu won the hand with pocket fives, the dry board didn't help Colman's K-Q.

The HUSNG legend Colman entered his own game, but in this case Negreanu started the heads-up better, he built a considerable lead.

In the 88th hand - still the 24th level - Colman opened to 2.5 million, Negreanu 3bet to 7.5 million, Colman called. The flop came 2 3 2. Negreanu cbet to 9 million, Colman called. The dealer dealt a 8 turn. Negreanu checked, Colman followed suit. Both players checked the T river too. Colman showed A J, the ace high proved to be enough to take down the pot; Negreanu mucked.

Negreanu started to get a grip again, he won more pots than Colman, he climbed as high as 69,000,000. The big pots on the other hand went to Colman, he took the lead back in one pot with a full house.

In the 118th hand of the final - 25th blind level (800,000)/1,600,000-200,000) Negreanu limped from the button, Colman raised to 4 million, Negreanu went all-in to 20,850,000, Colman called.

The king of HUSNG, Dan Colman won the Big One, right after he won the EPT Grand Final Super High Roller, which grants him a whopping $18 million in live tournament cash. The runner-up Daniel Negreanu is now the biggest live MTT winner, he is on top of the leaderboard with a total of $29,796,380.
