Prague Poker Festival Is Launched – Without Jungleman12 HU

With the WPT Prague Main Event, the Prague Poker Festival kicked off yesterday, featuring a total of 18 events, including the EPT and GSOP Main Events as well. Jungleman12's HU challenge is, however, probably cancelled.

Between 1 – 12 December, the Prague Poker Festival takes place and hosts a WPT, an EPT and a GSOP Main Event. The first major tourney is the €3,500 WPT Prague, launched on Thursday, 1 December and held through 5 December. The €5,300 EPT Prague starts right after that, running 5 – 10 December. The €1,650 GSOP Prague takes place on 8 – 11 December.

In addition to the Main Events, side tourneys are, of course, also held; a total of 18 events are listed in the Festival programme.

As we have reported in connection with the tournament, Daniel ’jungleman12’ Cates has been planning on a heads-up challenge on 6 December, during the Festival in Prague. It now seems that this will not take place; the organiser PokerFarm has confirmed that Cates’ challenge has not yet been accepted and if this does not change in the next couple of days, there will be a cash game event instead of HU.

In case a cash game is organised, Luke ’FullFlush’ Schwartz can be expected to take part in addition to Cates, but there is no word about other contestants yet. The minimal buy-in will be €10,000 and blinds are set to €50/€100; a live stream will be available of the event on the official WPT website.
