Sam Trickett has got behind him an exceptional year of 2011. The British poker pro has acquired a total of $4.5 million in live tournament winnings. Among others, he won the Aussie Millions High Roller and the Partouche Poker Tour Grand Final, not to mention his Macau cash game earnings and the fact that he is considered to be the best live cash game player in the world.

His performance has been acknowledged on the European Poker Awards as well, where he received the title Player of the Year 2011, for which he was in contest with the likes of Jake Cody, Bertrand ‘Elky’ Grospellier, world champion Pius Heinz, Eugene Katchalov and Andrey Pateychuk. It seems now that he is in for just another exceptional honour.

Trickett signed his sponsorship deal with Titan Poker back in March, 2010 and, apparently, he has proven to be grateful for their trust. However, he has also moved to “upper leagues” in the process; as a result, his announcement via Twitter to leave Team Titan has not come as too much of a shock.

“Me an Titan have decided to part ways. I have enjoyed representing them and they was a absolute pleasure to work with. Thanks again Titan....” he tweeted.

Following the announcement, many have instantly come to the conclusion that he must be about to sign to one of the major rooms and Trickett himself has implied that he had spent the night partying. Probably, this was not due to the fact that he has broken up with Titan Poker, not directly anyway…

Most likely, market leader PokerStars will sign the Partouche champion, although Betfair and 888 are also considered possible sponsors-to-be.
