Negreanu Tops Three Major Live Tournament Leaderboards

Daniel Negreanu is currently number one on the GPI, CardPlayer as well as the Bluff live tournament leaderboard. His main rival in the race for the Player of the Year title is Philipp Gruissem.

Daniel Negreanu

This year’s schedule is starting to run out of major live tournament and, as a result, the picture is becoming clearer and clearer as to who will compete for the Player of the Year on the major leaderboards. Daniel Negreanu has been dominating the lists since mid-September, when he was already topping the CardPlayer and Bluff leaderboards and was runner-up at GPI, second only to Ole Schemion.

Most importantly, Negreanu has since taken over the top finish of the GPI list as well, mainly due to his 2nd finish in the WSOPE High Roller event for $979,955.

GPI Leaderboard 2013:

Negreanu is in the lead with 3,385 points. He cannot rest assured of his victory, though, with only a slight advantage over Philipp Gruissem. The German pro has 3,218 points and has been busy scoring big multiple times since October: he finished 3rd in the WSOPE High Roller for $337,915, and then won the WPT Alpha8 London as well as St. Kitts events for $1,379,840 and $1,086,400, respectively.

The 3rd position is occupied by Marvin Rettenmaier with 3,134 points. He is also to scoop in more points soon, as he has just made it to the top 32 in the WPT Caribbean festival.
