Durrrr Leaves FTP Professionals

Tom ‘durrrr’ Dwan’s contract with Full Tilt Poker has recently expired and the room decided not to keep sponsoring the player.

FTP Professionals - No Dwan

When Full Tilt Poker re-launched last year, the pro team was revived under the name of The Professionals; the room signed sponsorship contracts with Viktor ‘Isildur1’ Blom, Gus Hansen and Tom ‘durrrr’ Dwan. However, the latter is no longer a sponsored pro of Full Tilt Poker.

Dwan’s profile has been deactivated at the room’s website and officials have confirmed publicly that the high stakes pro is no longer a member of the FTP Professionals.

“Full Tilt Poker and Tom Dwan have agreed to part ways following the recent expiration of Dwan’s contract. To have one of the most respected names in poker on our team has been a great pleasure. We will continue to watch Tom at the tables and wish him every success in the future,” a spokesperson of the room said.

Despite the usual formalities surrounding Dwan’s departure, it has come as little surprise to the majority of the community. The US players has been less and less active lately at online games and failed to assist the room’s promotions, too. Instead, he has been playing live cash games in Macau. Dwan has also gained some notoriety this year with his public remarks inappropriate for a sponsored player, including his much criticized post in July, where he regarded multi-accounting as angle shooting rather than cheating. Moreover, he has been reluctant to carry on with the Durrrr Challenge against Daniel ‘jungleman12’ Cates, despite his promises and the promotional value of the challenge to the room.

While the benefits of being the member of The Professionals is unknown, it is safe to say the room has not made a lot of money on Dwan’s activity lately and sponsoring him was not rewarding anymore.
