PCA 2014 Main Event - 215 Players Reach Day 3

The field has dropped to only 215 by the end of Day 2 of the PCA 2014 $10,000 Main Event. WSOP champion Pascal Lefrancois is in the lead, slightly ahead of Sam ‘Str8$$$Homey’ Greenwood.

Day 2 of the PCA 2014 $10,000 Main Event saw a total of 658 players sit down to the tables; 632 of them qualified from Day 1A and 1B, while another 26 registered on the day, in concordance with the late registration regulations of the tournament. These added up to a total of 1,031 registrations, accumulating a prize pool of $10,070,000 in the $10 million guaranteed event.

WSOP 2010 $1,500 NLHE champion Pascal Lefrancois managed to climb to the lead during the day: the Canadian bagged 412,000 in chips. However, he is only slightly ahead of FTOPS and SCOOP title holder online multi-table tournament specialist Sam ‘Str8$$$Homey’ Greenwood, who has a stack of 402,500. The average chip count is 143,860.

A total of 215 players remained by the end of Day 2, only 64 eliminations away from the in the money finishes. The field includes the likes of Taylor ‘taypaur’ Paur, seasoned PokerStars Pro Marcel Luske, two times WSOP champion Athanasios Polychronopoulos ($1,500 NLHE titles 2011, 2013), WSOP 2009 Main Event 3rd finisher Antoine Saout or Humberto Brenes’ borther, WPT winner Eric Brenes.
