Final Day of Elites in PCA 2014 High Roller Event

Vanessa Selbst leads the illustrious field to the final day of the PCA 2014 $25,000 High Roller event. She is accompanied by the likes of Marvin Rettenmaier, Daniel Negreanu and Dan Smith at the Final Table, playing for the $1,279,880 first prize.

Day 1 of the PCA 2014 $25,000 High Roller tournament took place on 11 January with 190 entrants with a total of 229 entries. Team Ivey Poker member Jonathan Jaffe ended up on the top of the chip counts with a stack of 422,000. He was followed by Ole Schemion (stack: 347,700) and Negreanu (344,500).

Since registrations were open in the beginning of Day 2, the final entry count set at 247, a new record in the history of the event, and players accumulated $6,175,000 in prize money. The field reached the 31 in the money finishes during the day: Kyle Julius got eliminated in the bubble. The Team PokerStars Pro member called all-in on Selbst’s shove from the Button. She pushed in her stack on the two shortstack Blinds.

Selbst won with a pair and took over the chip lead in the tournament.

Byron Kaverman followed suit in 31st place, Tommy Vedes in 28th, Daniel Colman in 27th, Fabian Quoss in 26th, Jake Cody in 24th, Ana Marquez in 22nd, Olivier Busquet in 21st, Andrew Chen in 18th, Chris Klodnicki in 17th, Philipp Gruissem in 16th and Faraz Jaka in 15th.

Selbst eventually managed to qualify for the last day in the chip lead with 1,633,000 in chips. Among the 14 survivors are other renowned pros like Greg Merson, Rettenmaier, Negreanu and Smith as well. Play resumes on Level 21 (3,000/10,000/20,000) and today we will have a winner.
