Isildur1 Wins $2.1 Million, Hansen Down $1.3 Million in January

Full Tilt Poker Pros saw both the top and the bottom of the high stakes action in January: Viktor ‘Isildur1’ Blom finished as the biggest winner and Gus Hansen lost the most in the first month of the year.

Few high stakes players have grinded a lot in January; by far, ‘Isildur1’ played the most hands: 48,517 to be precise. He also managed to win the most, profiting $2,154,113. The Swede would take part in any action he could get; he earned the most in 8-Game, $1,373,677 in 8,528 hands. In Omaha Hi/Lo, he won $796,852 (7,046 hands), $532,389 in draw (4,827 hands) and 117,602 in NLHE (6,762). Only in PLO did he lose, $665,407 in 21,354 hands.

He also played for the largest pot of the month, although he happened to lose that one. On the $400/$800 NLHE HU table, ‘Isildur1’ raised to $2,400 from the Button, Isaac ‘luvtheWNBA’ Haxton 3-bet to $8,000 and ‘Isildur1’ called. The flop came 7 6 T, ‘luvtheWNBA’ bet $11,200 and ‘Isildur1’ called. On the 3 river, Haxton bet $34,000 and Blom called again. ‘LuvtheWNBA’ then shoved for $107,697 on the J river, ‘Isildur1’ called from a slightly larger stack but mucked his hand when Haxton tabled Q J for the $322,094 pot.

Apart from Blom, only Ben ‘Bttech86’ Tollerene managed to collect a seven-digit sum in January; in 8,620 hands, he earned $1,444,718. Most of it ($1,281,662) came from 6,683 hands of PLO, to which he added $163,056 in 1,937 hands of NLHE. 3rd finisher on the profit list is Max ‘mikki696’ Lehmanski, who played 10,513 hands of PLO for $581,500. ‘LuvtheWNBA’ finished in 4th position ($393,494 in 1,332 hands) and Doug ‘WCGRider’ Polk in 5th ($390,731 in 6,317 hands).

No surprises on the losses list this month: FTP Pro Gus Hansen continued his 2013 streak, losing $1,367,890 in 17,616 hands.
