Leading iPoker Skin Withdraws from Spain

The iPoker network has become unable to maintain its operation on the regulated Spanish market; leading skin Poker770 announced its withdrawal as of 1 March.

Online Poker is Spain

The failure of the segregated markets to meet preliminary expectations has been reported on several occasions; player numbers keep dropping in Spain, Franc and Italy alike and operators find themselves in an increasingly difficult situation. While their incomes are diminishing, their taxes and fees are not; as a result, less and less of them are able to remain in business on these markets.

Most recently, one of the leading iPoker rooms, Poker770 has announced that they discontinue their operations in Spain. The network has been performing poorly on the market, receiving only 5% of the total traffic. PokerStars.es dominates the market with over 70% share, followed by 888Poker.es and its 20%. The iPoker network comes in 3rd and has been fighting for survival.

On 1 March, Poker770 ceases its operations on the market; Spanish players have instantly been informed of the decision and of the fact that their money is completely safe and can be withdrawn at their convenience.

Since the opening of the market in 2012, Poker770 is the third operator to leave it, following in the footsteps of PAF and Ongame Spain.
