Renowned Liverpool FC forward Luis Suárez, nicknamed ‘Cannibal’, joins 888Poker as brand ambassador.

One of the best soccer players around, Liverpool FC forward Luis Suárez has become a brand ambassador to 888Poker, as announced at an official press conference yesterday. Uruguayan Suárez started his career at Nacional Montevideo and entered the adult league at the age of 18 in 2005, scoring 12 times in 34 matches. For the next season, he was signed by Groningen in the Netherlands, where he scored 15 goals in 37 games.

After transferring to Ajax and playing 159 matches (111 goals) between 2007 and 2011, he ended up in Liverpool to emerge as one of the most successful players today after, despite a difficult start. In the latest season, he was chosen Player of the Year in the Premier League for scoring 31 times in 33 championship matches, in addition to 21 assists. To date, he has played 133 games and boasts 82 scores at Liverpool. According to Transfermarkt, Suárez is worth €52,000,000.

The Uruguayan is infamous for his aggressive behavior on the pitch: he was carded for the first time at the age of 15, when he headbutted a referee. Later, he would be given the nickname ‘Cannibal’ for biting some of his opponents in-game.
