WSOP.com to Host the Toughest Field this Summer?

WSOP has introduced a range of modifications in its rules, including allowing playing online during the World Series in Las Vegas.

WSOP 2014

On 27 May, the 2014 World Series of Poker launches and the usual press conference to prepare the festival has taken place just recently. Organisers have used the opportunity to make a number of announcements, the most interesting of which arguably being that playing online will be allowed to players during the live events.

In 2013, Ultimate Poker had already been operating legally in Nevada, yet the Rio did not allow real money online play. Since, however, WSOP brand and Rio owner Caesars Entertainment has also launched its own offering on the market in the form of WSOP.com and they have clearly nothing against users playing there online during the live festival. That being the case, some of the best regulars can be expected at the online tables of the room this summer.

WSOP.com Table

In fact, Caesars Entertainment is determined to promote WSOP.com among players visiting the World Series. They allow play at their online room at the live tables, in addition to providing access to the Grind Room, where computers and laptops will be provided by the company with excellent internet connection and in a comfortable environment, so that grinders can enjoy some online game in between tournaments. The Grind Room is also offering a “live support” where players can deposit and withdraw cash.

WSOP.com is already running numerous satellites for the WSOP events and it kicks off the WSOP.com Online Championship on 1 June, offering 15 events with a total guaranteed prize pool of $650,000. Buy-ins range from $55 to $215.

In the press conference, Rio has also announced that they will offer Open Face Chinese cash game tables as well. The events kick off at 16:00 and most of them will have a six-hour late registration period.
