The single most important poker series of the Old Continent, the European Poker Tour (EPT) celebrates a major jubilee with the start of the 11th season. In august, Barcelona hosts the kick-off festival of EPT XI, which is also the 100th stop in the history of the Tour. That the occasion would be an excuse for a larger-than-life poker festival was announced in January; now, all the details have been published with the release of the EPT Barcelona 2014 schedule.

The festival kicks off on 16 August at the Casino Barcelona and it features 43 events. The stop also includes the Estrellas Poker Tour Barcelona tournaments, as usual.

In addition to the two main events, the Estrellas €1,100 Main Event and the EPT €5,300 Main Event, several unique tournaments are part of the schedule, including the familiar Super High Rollers, a €1,000 PLO Hi/Lo Championship, a €1,000 Limit Omaha Hi/Lo Championship and a €1,000 No Limit Omaha Hi/Lo Championship.

“The EPT was born in Barcelona so it’s very fitting to celebrate EPT’s 100th event in true style and with unforgettable poker. EPT Barcelona is one of the most popular tour stops and attracts players from all over the world for the fantastic mix of beaches, iconic architecture, party atmosphere and world class poker,” EPT President Edgar Stuchly commented on the announcement of the 100th EPT stop.

The first EPT took place in 2004 and over 180,000 entrants have since played in the series in 16 different countries.
