WSOP 2014 Event #44-45 - Jordan Morgan and Will Givens Win

Only two players returned on an unscheduled Day 4 of WSOP Event #44 $1,500 No Limit Hold’em: Jordan Morgan and Evan McNiff started with roughly similar stacks.

Jordan Morgan – 4,445,000
Evan McNiff – 4,170,000

On the previous event day, the two of them were playing over six hours before they had to bag and tag their chips. Tuesday started out slowly as well and after 2.5 hours, the difference between their stacks was still not significant.

Jordan Morgan – 5,520,000
Evan McNiff – 3,080,000

Somewhat unexpectedly, the fate of the title was suddenly decided on Level 32 (20,000/80,000/160,000): McNiff raised to 320,000, Morgan shoved and McNiff called after tanking a bit.

On Day 3 of Event #45 $1,000 No Limit Hold’em, 11 players returned with Angela Prada-Moed in the lead. The nine-handed Final Table was formed with the elimination of Terik Brown and Kim Ng, the players drawing seats as follows:

Seat 1: Will Givens – 1,210,000
Seat 2: Ivan Saul – 458,000
Seat 3: David Hass – 435,000
Seat 4: Loren Klein – 182,000

Seat 7: Angela Prada-Moed – 944,000
Seat 8: Paul Sokoloff – 489,000
Seat 9: Patrick Curzio – 377,000

First out was Loern Klein, moving all-in on Level 22 (2,000/8,000/16,000) on the KDiamond 5Clubs 2Diamond board with AHeart JClubs, Will Givens called with ADiamond TDiamond and the 6Diamond on the turn sealed the hand with the 7Clubs on the river rendered irrelevant.

Ivan Saul, Dmitrii Shchepkin, Duy Ho, Patrick Curzio and David Hass followed before the heads-up could be formed after a long 3-handed play, on Level 27 (5,000/25,000/50,000).

Will Givens – 4,200,000
Angela Prada-Moed – 1,300,000

Givens started significantly ahead and kept the lead; while Prada-Moed was able to climb up to about 2,000,0000 in chips, she entered the final hand with only half that amount. Givens opened to 100,000, Prada-Moed called and they saw the JDiamond AClubs 8Clubs flop. Prada-Moed shoved and Givens called.
