Grayson "gray31" Ramage wins WCOOP Challenge Main Event, PokerStars announces WCOOP schedule

As we have previously reported, the PokerStars WCOOP Challenge was running until this Monday, with the two 2-day events that started on Sunday finishing in the evening hours, and well-known pro Grayson Ramage winning the most money in the $2 million guaranteed Main Event.

The event had a $2,100 buy-in and 1243 runners, and Ramage won more than $502,000, as well as a commemorative customized money clip and a seat in the 2014 WCOOP Main Event worth $5,200. This is Grayson's biggest score so far, but looking at his poker resumé, it was well due, he has been crushing tournaments for years.

The other 2-day event of the weekend, the Sunday Million Special Edition, which easily surpassed it's $1.5 million guarantee to create a prizepool of more than $2 million, saw a 7-way chop, where all the players received prizes between $97,000 and $178,000.

Tournament grinders have no reason to be sad though, since the FTOPS is still in action, and PokerStars already released the schedule for the WCOOP, which takes place between September 7-28 and features a $40 million guaranteed prizepool spread out over 66 events. Last year the same guarantee was smashed, the 145,000 players who competed created a prize pool of $62 million.

This year's Main Event, which has a $10,000,000 guarantee is going to be broadcasted live with the commentary of James Hartigan and Joe Stapleton.
