Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open - Daniel Colman at the final table of the Main Event, Jacob Schindler wins the High Roller

18 players returned to Day 5 of the SHRPO Main Event, and at the end of of the day we were left with an incredibly strong final table lineup, with Daniel Colman, Mike Leah and John Dolan both advancing to the 6-handed final. Meanwhile, Jacob Schindler wins the controversial High Roller event for $570,000.

As we have reported yesterday, there was plenty of controversy regarding the payouts of the $100,000 buy-in High Roller event. Scott Seiver was the chipleader at the end of Day 1, and that's when the organizers told players that 3 places are going to be paid, instead of the planned 2 places.

Seiver was outraged by this and stated that it's beyond unacceptable to change the payout structure of the tournament at that point, multiple players have busted, and everyone at the table played as if only the first two places were paid. After two hours of complaining, the tournament officials reverted back the payouts to 2 places paid, but a couple of players were quick to judge Seiver, stating he's only doing this because he's the overwhelming chip leader.

The original payouts of the event in case of 9 entries were actually going to pay 3 spots, but Seiver asked during play whether the tournament would be winner-takes-all, or whether 2 places are going to get paid, to which the floorman mistakenly responded that two places will be paid.

The organizers realized that they've made a mistake (there was also a big uproar on twitter and the poker forums), and decided to add $50,000 to the prize pool to pay the 3rd place finisher.

Ironically, it was Scott Seiver who finished in 3rd, earning half his buy-in back. Jacob Schindler, winner of the PCA High Roller, won the tournament for $570,000, while Ryan Fee finished in second for $307,000.
