Fedor "CrownUpGuy" Holz wins WCOOP Main Event for $1.3 million

The second day of the $5,200 buy-in World Championship of Online Poker started with 271 players, and plenty of great players managed to reach the final table, including Faraz "The-Toilet 0" Jaka, Dylan "PokerI)eviL" Hortin, Viktor "Isildur" Blom and Elior "Crazy Elior" Sion. In the end, it was young Austrian player/staker Fedor Holz who took down the event for $1.3 million.

The WCOOP Main Event started last Sunday with a $5,200 buy-in and a $10 million guaranteed prize pool, In the end, 2,142 players entered to create a $10.7 million prizepool with a first place prize of $1.8 million. Play on Day 1 ended with 271 players, but only 270 places were paid, and there were several extremely short-stacks in play.

In the end, Matt "All In At 420" Stout finished as the bubble boy, everyone else received at least $12,316.

The final table had plenty of stars, the following players reached the final 9:

Seat 1: 19Dan86 (United Kingdom) - 7.735.672

Seat 2: Yuri "theNERDguy" Martins (Brazil) - 2.476.920

Seat 3: neckbr4ke (Germany) - 6.194.753

Seat 4: Faraz "The-Toilet 0" Jaka (Poland) - 3.105.327

Seat 5: Dylan "PokerI)eviL" Hortin (Canada) - 4.268.399

Seat 6: Viktor "Isildur1" Blom (United Kingdom) - 1.284.346

Seat 7: Fedor "CrownUpGuy" Holz (Austria) - 12.627.617

Seat 8: Elior "Crazy Elior" Sion (United Kingdom) - 3.122.846

Seat 9: MaltLiquor40 (Canada) - 2.006.120

Plenty of players had high hopes for Isildur1, but sadly the Swede, who rarely plays tournaments yet already has two $1 million+ scores, was the first one to bust from the final table. He went all-in with 10 big blinds (50k/100k blinds) and T9 suited from middle position, Crazy Elior called him with AK suited and held.

In the next hand MaltLiquor40 jammed all-in with 99 and around 1.8 million chips, theNERDguy called with JJ and the best hand held up once again.

Around 40 minutes later, (70k/140k blinds) Crazy Elior raised to 280.000, neckbr4ke re-raised to 575,000 from the button, PokerI)eviL jammed from the smallblind with 1.27 million chips, Crazy Elior re-raised all-in, and neckbr4ke folded. PokerI)eviL had QQ, Crazy Elior had TT, and managed to draw his opponent out on the 7-T-5-5-9 board.

The remaining 6 players started to discuss a deal, which lasted 45 minutes. In the end, they agreed to the ICM numbers, and left $200,000 for the winner.

Shortly after the deal, 19Dan86 busted after going all-in from the cutoff with A7 suited, and getting called by neckbr4ke's AQ.

Fifth place finisher was Faraz "The-Toilet 0" Jaka, who actually won the second most money thanks to the deal. He ran with 99 into theNERDguy's TT and failed to improve.

On the 80k/160k blind level, CrownUpGuy minraised from UTG, Crazy Elior jammed for almost 2 million, CrownUpGuy called. Crazy Elior had the AJ offsuit, while CrownUpGuy was playing with KQ suited, and caugt two pair on the 4-7-K-Q-2 board.

neckbr4ke busted in 3rd place after losing a coinflip against CrownUpGuy.

Heads up between the guys

CrownUpGuy: 27.956.040

theNERDguy: 14.883.960

The heads-up battle didn't last very long, the tournament ended with a big cooler. CrownUpGuy minraised to 600.000, theNERDguy called. Both players checked the 8-T-4 two diamonds flop. On the jack of diamonds turn theNERDguy check/raised CrownUpGuy's bet to 750.000, and the Austrian player called in position. On the ten of spades river theNERDguy bet 1.8 million, CrownUpGuy jammed, and theNERDguy called all-in for almost 7 million.

CrownUpGuy showed TT, a flop set that turned into quads by the river, while theNERDguy showed down 44 for a flopped set and turned full boat. Congratulations to Fedor Holz, winner of the 2014 World Championship of Online Poker Main Event and on his amazing 2014 (besides his success as a staker/backer, he also won a side event at the EPT100 Barcelona and played in the €50,000 Super High Roller aswell)!
