Jeff Lisandro wins WSOP APAC bracelet, while Isai Scheinberg, founder of PokerStars, wins UKIPT Isle of Man High Roller

123 players registered for the A$1,650 Pot Limit Omaha tournament at the WSOP APAC, and there were plenty of great players in the field. In the end, Jeff Lisandro won the 6th bracelet of his career and the A$51,660 first prize. Meanwhile, on the other end of the globe, Isai Scheinberg, the founder of PokerStars won the UKIPT High Roller tournament for almost 14,000 GBP (roughly $22,000).

Day 2 of the A$1,650 PLO event started with 49 players, but the field quickly whittled down to the 6-handed final table.

Play continued with the 16th blind level (2,000/4,000) and the following chipstacks:

Seat 1 - Paul  Sharbanee - 46,000

Seat 2 - Gary Benson - 68,000

Seat 3 - Zane Ly - 181,000

Seat 4 - Jason Gray - 160,000

Seat 5 - Jeff Lisandro - 69,000

Seat 6 - Paul Mac - 34,000

The first player to bust was Paul Mac, he raised to 14,000 before the flop and got called by Zane Ly in the small blind. The two players checked down the J6627 three hearts board until the river, where Mac went all-in. Ly called with J-T-8-T while Mac had the A-K-Q-7.

Two hands later Ly busted Sharbanee aswell, they got it all-in on the AQ3 rainbow flop, Ly had A-A-9-4 while Sharbanee had the A-2-Q-T, and Ly held up.

Ly's next victim was Gary Benson, the two players ended up all-in before the flop. Benson held K-K-8-7 suited in hearts while Ly had the A-K-Q-T suited in clubs. Ly flopped the nuts on the A72 all clubs flop and held easily.

After this Ly lost several pots and eventually busted in third place, after getting all-in against Lisandro's A-A-8-6 double suited with K-9-7-3 double suited. On the Q-T-8-7-4 board the Aces held up for Lisandro who started the heads-up with a small chiplead.

Jeff Lisandro - 304,000

Jason Gray - 250,000

The tournament ended in the 18th blind level (4,000/8,000), the two players got the money in on the 7-5-2 two hearts flop. Lisandro held A-K-J-5 suited in hearts for a pair and a flushdraw, while Gray had J-7-5-4 for top two pair.

Lisandro didn't hit on the turn when the 4 of spades fell, but caught the 3 of diamonds on the river to make a straight and eliminate Gray.

Lisandro won the 6th WSOP Bracelet of his career, and he has won bracelets at the WSOP, at the WSOP Europe, and now at the WSOP APAC, which is a very impressive performance for the 2009 WSOP Player of the Year.

Final table results:

1. Jeff Lisandro - A$51.660

2. Jason Gray - A$31.931
3. Zane Ly - A$22.771
4. Gary Benson - A$16.563
5. Paul Sharbanee - A$12.282
6. Paul Mac - A$9.282
7. Stephen Woodhead - A$7.146

On the other side of the globe, on the Isle of Man, players were participating in the events of the United Kingdom and Ireland Poker Tour (UKIPT), and that's where one of the most respected members of the poker industry, Isai Scheinberg decided to play.

Scheinberg is the founder of PokerStars, and is thus one of, if not the biggest, contributors to the game of poker. He founded the company in 2001 and sold it to Amaya Gaming for $4.9 billion earlier this year. He is most likely the most influental in the industry, he has topped Bluff Magazine's Power 20 list plenty of times. Scheinberg is a very private person, he never does media interviews and there were only a couple of photos of him around in the internet.

He entered the 2000+200 GBP High Roller event, and beat 14 other players including Mickey "mement_mori" Petersen to claim the 13,850 GBP first prize and the trophy.

Players on social media and the poker forums rushed to congratulate to the businessman on his first recorded live cash and victory, and many players wondered why he has not been inducted into the Poker Hall of Fame yet. So many former employees, players and other industry members wanted to be part of his winner's photo that you can barely see him holding up the trophy.
