WSOP APAC - Tobias Reinkemeier leads the Main Event

Day 1A of the WSOP APAC Main Event started on Sunday, while Day 1B played out yesterday. A total of 187 players have advanced to Day 2, the chipleader is German pro Tobias Reinkemeier with 171,925 chips. Day 2 begins today at 12:30 PM local time, and there are still plenty of great players in the hunt for the A$850,000 first prize.

A total of 324 players, entered, but registration is still open until the start of Day 2, so the number could still increase.

Daniel Negreanu wont be making back-to-back APAC Main Event wins, he busted along with Vanessa Rousso, Antonio Esfandiari, Mike Watson, Dan Heimiller, Bruno Politano.

There are still plenty of big names in the tournament, including Brian Riast, Jonathan Duhamel, Ismael Bojang, Greg Merson, Timo Pfutzenreuter as well as WSOP Player of the Year title hunters George Danzer and Brandon Shack-Harris.

Danzer currently has a healthy lead of over 100 points on Shack-Harris, so he has to make a very deep run if he wants to overtake the Danzer and claim the POY title. With the small field, it's entirely possible that the two players will eventually end up at the same table, which would make the battle even more interesting.
