Jason Somerville joins Team PokerStars Pro

This morning PokerStars officially announced that they have signed Jason Somerville as their Team Pro. Somerville is a WSOP champion who is probably most well-known for his Run It UP! video series and for streaming his online sessions on Twitch.tv.

Jason Somerville is one of the most successful young players in poker, he has accumulated over $3.9 million in live tournament earnings and $2.2 million online, and he is also amongst the most popular ones. Somerville frequently streams his online sessions on Twitch.tv, and a huge following has built up around his Run It UP! video series aswell.

PokerStars announced the news in a press release:

"The popular American poker pro Jason Somervile has joined PokerStars Team Pro. With this we have partnered with a player who, with the help of his huge energy, intelligence and geniality, can help our brand stay in its leading position in the online poker market.

Somerville represents the latest generation of poker pros, raised on American poker television and videogame culture. For this young American player poker is a real passion, his popular Twitch streams make this very clear. A legion of fans follows his live streams, and he gives strategic advice to his followers.

Somerville has more than $6 million in tournament winnings and is known on Twitch as "jcarverpoker", more than 3 million unique users follow him. The "Run It UP!" strategy series also proved to be very popular amongst Youtube users aswell in the last 18 months. As a Team PokerStars member he will launch Season 3 of the Run it UP! series, the first episode will be available on the PokerStars Twitch channel from March 1."

Somerville is very excited about the sponsorship, he said the following:
