Ryan Tosoc is WPT Five Diamond World Poker Classic champion
11
US poker pro hits his biggest score in form of the $1,958,065 first prize, outlasting a field of 812 entries.
No fake-smile wrinkles here
The event kicked off on December 5, in the famous Bellagio Resort & Casino. More than 800 players showed up and paid the $10,400 buy-in, in hopes of taking down the title and the almost $2 million prize with it.
Ryan Tosoc is no stranger to the final table of this event, last time he also came close to the win when he got second, losing the heads-up against James Romero, but probably still happy, cashing for $1.1 million. The final table saw plenty of tough competitors. High-stakes queen, Lauren Roberts, former WPT champ Mike Del Vecchio and son of longtime pro Ralph Perry - Sean - also made it to the finals. Sean's just turned twenty-one on the starting day of the tournaments. The $500,000 pay-out for his 4th place finish is certainly a nice birthday gift.
Del Vecchio couldn't manage to become a two-time champion as he busted in 3rd place when his lost against the of Tosoc's. The former champ got $752,196 for his efforts.
Unlike last year, this time Ryan was unstoppable. On the final hand, he called the 3-bet shove of Foxen's - having a commanding chip lead.
Runner-up Alex Foxen
Even though he came from behind ha was lucky enough to hit his gin card on the turn and hold on the river for the championship.
