Interview with Daniel ‘Jungleman12’ Cates

Jungleman12 is one of the biggest names in the online poker world these days. He keeps hitting the headlines with huge amounts of money won in high stakes cash games, rumors of him accepting the ‘Durrrr Challenge’ and pictures of him partying with his buddies.

Daniel has recently also been making videos for CardRunners, while still going to college in Maryland.

Jungleman12 is in the middle with the hat on

Poker Curious has done an interview with Jungleman12, in which he is being asked about the launch of his poker career, his future ambitions and poker how-to.

From the interview it becomes clear that Daniel is truly a very honest and ambitious guy, with the kind of wisdom that is very rare among his contemproraries.
He talks about bankroll management, key moments of his career, personal characteristics that are a necessity to become a pro, his blog on CardRunners and a lot of other interesting topics.

Daniel is also able to view poker from a psychological/philosphical perspective, which is very useful in order to be able to harmonize poker and everyday life.
He also admits that he had been working at McDonald’s, something that not many people would have bet on, I guess.

Jungleman12 also confirms that he is willing to take the Durrrr Challenge, and is preparing by studying Dwan’s previous games, besides “doing some mental preparation” as well.

I would now like to quote one question and the related answer, to inspire you all

"If you could give other young, enthusiastic players one piece of advice for poker and for life what would it be?

That in order to get what you want out of life, you must really apply yourself and what you know and eventually dreams can become reality."

I completely agree with Daniel on this issue.
