Jonathan Duhamel Wins 2010 WSOP Main Event
Jonathan Duhamel has won the 2010 World Series of Poker Main Event. The Canadian pro plalyed very well, used his huge chip lead against John Racener winning the $8,944,310 main prize and the bracelet.
The most important poker event of the year started at 8 p.m. PT. The audience could witness the enshrinement of Erik Seidel And Dan Harrington into the Poker Hall of Fame as promised, and Frank Kassela also received his '2010 WSOP Player of The Year' title.

Jonathan Duhamel is the first Canadian player to ever win the world championship. That's right, Daniel Negreanu never won a WSOP Main Event title so far. However, Duhamel's victory was not that easy, he fought himself through the 7,319 participants who entered the contest this year. The force was with him, he had luck many times but he's also a good players so he made it to the final table.
Just before the final heads-up...
At the final heads-up, he started with a massive lead against the American, John Racener, who only had around 30 million chips compared to Duhamel's 189 million. That, however didn't bother Racener.
Real action started at the 41th blind level(200.000/800.000/1.600.000), where Racener could get some of Duhamel's chips. The Canadian raised all-in with K-4, which Racener had beat with his Q-Q on a dry board. He doubled up to 36,900,000. Despite this and some other hands where Racener could outplay his opponent, everything went according to expectations: Duhamel dominated the game, he was very aggressive, often went all-in pre-flop. After a short break, the finals were soon over: Duhamel was most of the time all-in, Racener kept folding until he finally called with K-8 suited, because he was so short he couldn't pass: Duhamel showed A-J offsuit. The board came 4-4-9-6-5, which helped none of them, Jonathan Duhamel has won his first WSOP bracelet with an A high.
He received his 2010 WSOP Main Event bracelet from last year's champion, Joe Cada. Due to the shock from what has taken place a few minutes before he couln't really give interviews after the game, he only said:
"Thank you to everybody for being here, it's a dream come true," Duhamel said. "I don't know what to think, I don't know what to say,".
