May

The European Poker Tour Monte Carlo Grand Final Main Event was concluded by the victory of Steve O’Dwyer for the €1,224,000 first prize.

Online high stakes heads-up specialist Max ‘altiFC’ Altergott earned €1,746,400 for his EPT Grand Final Super High Roller victory, defeating Jason Mercier in the heads-up.

David ‘Doc’ Sands won the $1,023,750 first prize in the World Poker Tour Championship 2013 Super High Roller event. His opponents in the finale included Joseph Cheong and Andrew Robl.

Viktor ‘Isildur1’ Blom took away the champion’s title for the Spring Championships of Online Poker Event #43-H $10,300 NLHE Main Event. The Swede ace won $1,096,200 in prize money.

On 29 May, this year’s World Series of Poker kicked off with the $500 Casino Employees NLHE and the $5,000 NLHE 8-Handed events. A total of 62 bracelet events were scheduled for the 44th WSOP and Event #1 was won by Chad Holloway.

June

One of the best Polish online MTT players, Jakub ‘Olorionek’ Michalak won the first ever International Stadiums Poker Tour event at the Wembley. He took home €436,000 after a six-way deal.

The 100 billionth milestone hand was dealt on 14 June at PokerStars. The Greek player 'Microulis69' took $103,800 for her winning J-5 hand.

While potentially facing a sentence for life, Bianca Rojas-Latraverse was eventually sentenced to three and a half years in prison for planning the assault on and robbery of WSOP champion Jonathan Duhamel.

Hac ‘trex313’ Dang won the most in June at the online high stakes tables but it was rather Viktor ‘Isildur1’ Blom and Ben ‘Sauce123’ Sulsky in the spotlight, showing of some of the highest octane action in the month.
