800 Millionth Tournament Coming Up with Huge Prizes at PokerStars

PokerStars soon celebrates yet another milestone in its history, the 800 millionth tournament. Among other prizes, multiplied guarantees and special games are coming up.

Following in the footsteps of the immensely popular Road to 100 Billion promotion, PokerStars announces a similar celebration. This time, however, it is not the cash games but tournaments in the spotlight, with the 800 millionth tournament closing in at the room.

The celebration is running from 13 through 20 October 2013 under the title “Carnival of Tournaments”. In the promotion, a total of $2,000,000 will be given away, added to tournament prize pools, in addition to gifts and special events. From 14 to 18 October, all the “Big” tournaments will have 50% bigger guaranteed prize pools; on the 19th, the prize pools will be doubled and on the 20th, they will be tripled.

Of course, the peak of the celebration is the 800 millionth tournament itself. It is named “Carnival - 800 Million Celebration” and runs with a guaranteed prize pool of $1,000,000. The direct buy-in is $109 but satellites run from as little as $1. As a special feature, in the first two hours of the tournament there will be prizes handed out at randomly drawn tables, for a total of $100,000.

Sit n Go enthusiast are also involved in the celebration: tables can randomly turn into Golden Sit n Gos after registration is closed but before play starts. In these games, PokerStars significantly increases the prizes; with different golden levels available, the prize pools can be doubled, tripled or even multiplied by five.
