Gus Hansen Returns as FTP Ambassador

Full Tilt Poker has officially announced to have their former pro, WSOPE and WPT champion Dane Gus Hansen back representing the room. Hansen is the first official ambassador of the re-opening FTP.

Full Tilt Poker (FTP) is to re-launch on 6 November at the latest, repaying 100% of non-US players’ money frozen on their accounts. Preparations of the restart are well underway, including the transportation of some of the room’s assets, including its servers, to the PokerStars headquarters on the Isle of Man in late September.

According to the latest press release, which is also indicative of the upcoming re-launch, the first ambassador of the new FTP is signed: Gus Hansen used to be a pro of the old room and is the owner of a WSOPE and three WPT titles with a total of $11.2 million in live winnings.

“I’m very excited to represent the industry’s most authentic poker brand. Full Tilt Poker has the best games, most innovative software and the strongest poker community; to me this feels like coming home,” Hansen said. Considering the post-Black Friday history of FTP, however, “the industry’s most authentic poker brand” can be considered a little exaggerated.

“Gus is one of the best-known and most respected names in the poker community. Gus has always embodied the best characteristics of the Full Tilt Poker brand and we are thrilled to have him return as an ambassador,” new FTP Head of Marketing Sarne Lightman said.

Guessing has been going on among the poker industry for some time, considering the ambassadors of the re-launching room. Phil Galfond and Tom ‘durrrr’ Dwan were among the most regular names to come up and it is far from impossible to have them signed, but Gus Hansen appears to be a welcome addition to the new FTP brand as well.
