Insane PLO Prop Bet Offered via Forum

An incredibly tough prop bet has been offered via the TwoPlusTwo online forum by a US PLO regular living in Budapest. ‘UziStuNNa’ aims to win $20,000 pre-rakeback in a month at up to 14 PLO50 and PLO100 6-max tables.

Of the several US pros scattering around the globe after Black Friday, many landed in continental Europe, aside the most important destinations like Canada, Mexico and the United Kingdom. There are a number of US players now residing in Budapest, Hungary, too, some of whom – including WCOOP title holder Michael ‘mrw8419’ Weisbrod – we have previously introduced to you in a video interview. Another grinder to carry on in the Central-Eastern European Capital is ‘UziStuNNa’, 3rd finisher in this year’s WCOOP $320 PL 5-Card Omaha 6-Max 1R1A event for $39,380.

Using the popular TwoPlusTwo online forum, ‘UziStuNNa’ has most recently got into the spot light by offering an incredibly tough prop bet:

“Hey guys,

“I just thought of this challenge, set for December 2013 or January 2014 (not sure which month yet) , to play 50 and 100 PLO 6-max, maximum 14 tables at a time, on PokerStars, and make 20k profit, pre-rakeback, in the 31 days of December/January.

“What would you consider fair odds for this type of challenge? I have asked some people, and they've said around 8:1 to 10:1.

“If there is any interest generated from this thread, I will definitely go through and accept this challenge, if the side bets are large enough.

“Lemme know what you think,” his original post reads.

In the very first comments, the pro was asked to introduce himself and his results in more detail and to verify his reliability, as his ‘Bluff Deez Nuts’ screen name was just recently registered on the forum. ‘UziStuNNa’ soon posted the following:

“Hey guys,

“So I just moved to Budapest from Kansas City (Go Chiefs! and the Royals are relevant again yeah!) to play poker. Been here about a month, really like it a lot. My plan is to stay in Europe for a while and just dedicate myself to the grind.

“I unfortunately lost most of my HH's due to a busted computer but here is a small sample from the end of summer. It's stakes ranging from 50 to 1000, mostly on the smaller end (50, 100, 200). My bb/100 in this sample is ~17.

“I usually never play long sessions, so this challenge will definitely be good training and give me some more motivation to be able to grind longer and still be able to keep focus.

“I played at the WSOP this summer and went 2/2 in cashes in the PLO events, including a top 18 finish in the 1500$ PLO.

“I am playing poker to be able to start up a business venture in the future that would hopefully become a non-profit organization to help people in third world countries. For example, creating sustainable farms in places like India and Africa where local villages could sustain themselves without having to go into monetary debt just to be able to eat and stay alive.

“I started playing poker when I was like 16 (now 23), and just loved the game. Would play for nickles and dimes with friends in a neighbor cash game. I remember one time where I lost $8 and was seriously contemplating quitting the local game lol. Around this time I also got into play money poker online at WSEX.

“When I was 18 I started playing some play money on FTP, and this is where I found PLO. I put on some money and started playing the .25/.50 HU cap games. Eventually I worked my way up to playing some at 25/50 shallow and once even playing a 100/200 game with Gustav, just_the_nuts, and David Benefield. I played Isildur HU once as well at 25/50 deep.

“Poker is definitely a great game, but I'm not sure how much longer it will still be profitable, and I see the game as more of a means to an end, so I would definitely like to get out of playing poker full-time within the next 5 years or so, and start up other investments.”

Soon, other forum members verified him as legit.

Since the original post, the prop bet has been receiving more and more attention. Currently, he would get 8:1 odds but with so many members still considering it too high, he might eventually decrease it. The current odds would mean he risks $10,000 and can win $80,000.

The odds can still be argued to be realistic, if we take the difficulty of the challenge into consideration. To reach his goals, ‘UziStuNNa’ particularly has to absolutely crush the PLO field on the given stakes.
