Ten times WSOP champion Johnny Chan will host the “Full House with Johnny Chan” poker reality show, which is planned to launch in February, 2013. A promotional footage has recently been released and it shocked the poker community. It is widely condemned as a mockery of poker, even among Chan’s most hardcore fans.

The concept of the show is to host five young cash game players from Las Vegas in Chan’s mansion, who stakes them with $200,000 each to increase at the tables.

“Everyone knows that playing poker in Las Vegas is not a guaranteed success. You see players appear and disappear throughout the year. Everyone on the show has survived playing in Vegas for years; they have fought the variance, and have jumped past the tough economic times and are still in Vegas playing today,” Jay Ishimaru, producer of the show, said.

Ishimaru is in negotiations with several companies for production, although there is no fixed agreement as yet. “We are planning to start shooting within 60 to 90 days and most likely you can see the show air by early February,” he commented.

Ever since the footage has been published, the show is under severe criticism from the poker community. It has also reached Doyle Brunson, who, however, seems to have little idea of what exactly he got into.

@MattGlantz: “Johnny Chan wtf are you doin brah? & @TexDolly why are you in this?? & @Adzizzy why you are not?”

Following EPT champion Matt Glantz’ tweet of outrage, Texas Dolly replied as follows:

“@MattGlantz @Adzizzy I have no clue about this show. Chan asked me, we are friends so I said ok. I didn't even know what the taping was for”

The cash game sessions of the show is planned to be shot at the MGM Grand Hotel & Casino, you can check it out and follow the events live, should you be able to, or rather, interested in doing that.
