Michael Eiler Wins EPT Vienna - Negreanu 4th
EPT Vienna is over, Michael 'mae9690' Eiler, 20-year-old german player has took down the title last Sunday, who won the final heads-up against Martin Hruby. Daniel Negreanu, Canadian PokerStars Pro set out to win his first EPT title, wanting to claim his "Triple Crown" (a WSOP, a WPT and an EPT first place) that only Roland de Wolfe and Gavin Griffin could win so far, but in the end he only came in 4th.
Bruno Launais was to first to be eliminated when running into Cainelli's pocket rockets. Not much later Matthias Lotze also had to stand up, Cainelli had his pocket tens beat with pocket jacks. The next to be out was Andreas Weise, and just after this came an interesting hand that changed the state of the whole game:
Cainelli bet to 290,000 from hijack, which was called by both Negreanu and Hruby. The flop came 8-5-K, where Cainelli's continuation bet of 725,000 was again called by both. The turn brought a nine, that made Cainelli go all-in, again called by Negreanu and Hruby. Cainelli's pocket aces were no good, and Negreanu's K-9 was also weak against Hruby's straight. Cainelli was out in 5th place.
Daniel Negreanu
Negreanu could not recover from the beating he got, and soon was out. The final heads-up started when Hruby eliminated Nanos, who showed K high against Nanos' Q high.
Martin Hruby
Eiler managed to overtake Hruby's chiplead after the first half hour of the heads-up. Throughout the game it was clear Eiler is better than his opponent. Deciding to end the tournament, Hruby went all-in with pocket deuces, which Elier called with A-10 of diamonds. The flop came all diamonds, and the young online pro soon won his first EPT title, winning €700,000.
Final Results:
1st: Michael Eiler (Germany) – €700,000
2nd: Martin Hruby (Czech Republic) – €470,000
