Mindgamer Plays Two Sunday Million Heads-Ups Within Weeks

On 20 October, Stefan ‘mindgamer’ Jedlicka finished 2nd for $129,000 in the largest weekly tournament at PokerStars, the Sunday Million. On 1 December, he entered the event again and booked a 1st finish for $222,934. His achievements rocketed him to the 2nd place on the online MTT world list.

Stefan ‘mindgamer’ Jedlicka has shown off an impressive run to say the least in the past weeks. The online multi-table tournament regular finished 3rd in Tuesday’s $109 NLHE 6-Max at PokerStars for $2,780 but this is almost dwarfed by his run in the Sunday Million tournaments: he played heads-up in two of them within a couple of weeks’ time.

On 20 October, he finished 2nd in the field of 7,464 for $129,000 in prize money, being bested by ‘semaj2’ alone. On 1 December, the Double Vision promotion brought about two Sunday Million events; of the 7,431 entrants, who participated in the SM I tourney, Jedlicka emerged victorious for $222,934. If we look at his performance from a purely mathematical point of view, the chances of a player making it to two Sunday Million heads-ups out of eight tries – the maximum he could have participated in between 20 October and 1 December – are almost insignificant: 0.004%.

Due to his results, Jedlicka instantly found himself 2nd in the online MTT world list, second only to Chris ‘moorman1’ Moorman. Moorman maintains a slight lead with 7,698 points against Jedlicka’s 7,637. The Austrian has been running excellently in live tournaments as well, leading the Concord Million III Main Event field earlier this week, for instance.
