Torbergsen is chiefly an online player of both micro and high stakes games but he has some live results as well. In 2008 he finished 551st in the WSOP Main Event and won $23,160. In addition, he went ITM two times in the Norwegian Poker Championship. This year’s WSOP, however, was a little less fortunate for him: “In the end I lasted 3 1/4 day in the Main Event without cashing,” he said in an interview posted on CardRunners.com.

In order for the players to get to know the new instructor better, CR asked ‘Skjervøy’ of some personal information. Born in the small town his nick derives from, Skjervøy, he finished high school in Tromsø. He was first introduced to the game by his father but received the decisive push from a couple of friends he used to play with on a weekly basis. He first played PLO in Las Vegas five years ago and prefers it ever since to NLHE, which he finds “too boring with 2 cards.” Torbergsen regards himself a “feel player,” but admits learning the “math behind” and benefitting from chatting with friends as well as from following the 2+2 threads. He currently resides in Norway and is soon to graduate with a degree in marketing.
