Pokerb00m.eu Involved in Tekintamgac Scandal?

WPT Barcelona 2010 champion Ali Tekintamgac was disqualified from the PPT Cannes main event final table after suspicion arose that Pokerb00m.eu bloggers helped him achieve his 4th place in the event. The blog is currently “under maintenance.”

After checking video footage of the qualifying day, event management concluded that certain “press members” provided Tekintamgac with information regarding his opponents’ hole cards. The poker player’s associates allegedly were fake journalists of the Pokerb00m.eu blog and were there to help him in the first place. The local police now use the recordings for their investigation.

Tekintamgac has been suspected of foul play for at least the second time since EPT Tallinn, where some journalists were removed from the event hall as cheaters. In addition, a video of the 2010 WPT Barcelona appeared at various sites, including 2+2 and Cake Poker, showing a reporter who is said to have signalled him, causing him to call the all-in and eventually win the HU.

Although it is yet uncertain, whether Pokerb00m bloggers were indeed involved in these questionable cases during the EPT and WPT (as some say, not least based on pictures like the one below), it seems certain that they are behind the PPT scandal. The site is currently down and the 9th place prize for the PPT Cannes final table will be offered for charity purposes. If Tekintamgac and his associates are found guilty of cheating, they face several years in prison.
