PokerSnowie Beats Players with 23bb/100 Hands Profit

A Challenge feature got introduced to the Game Theory Optimal coaching utility software PokerSnowie and so far, players do not seem to be able to beat the bot.

PokerSnowie Challenge

Snowie Games started out as a backgammon coaching software writer company but started expanding into the poker market earlier this year. They launched PokerSnowie and their first product under the brand was PokerCoach, a utility programme to teach NLHE cash game optimal theory (GTO) to subscribing FR, SH and HU players.

PokerSnowie added last week the Challenge feature to PokerCoach, an option for players to test their skills against a bot, programmed by the company. Full ring, short-handed and heads-up games are enabled on up to two tables per player and hands played against the bot are automatically uploaded to the system, allowing subscribers to analyse mistakes made in-game.

You can also track the performance of the Snowie bot against players, as developers made the stats available for review. It appears that the programme is showing off an impressive performance, having an average profit of around 23bb/100 over its opponents.

PokerSnowie Challenge results

Of course, average values tell little about the real results, so Snowie released further data.

“But we know that averages don’t always tell the full story. So we dug a bit deeper. We started by removing the games we felt would not have any real relevance. Anything under 100 hands played, and any play with an error rate above 25 we deemed as non-reliable.

Results:

  • 152, 558 hands played
  • An average error rate of 13.65 which we classify as advanced.
  • And PokerSnowie still made a significant profit of 16.98 bb/100

“We then segmented the data according to our error rate classification to understand how PokerSnowie’s win rate was evolving around the competition level.

The testing has been underway for just about a week, so results are subject to potentially major changes. Still, it is clear that PokerSnowie is able to beat most of its challengers. Test yourself against the bot for free now with the ten days trial offered by PokerCoach 2.
