Ragen70 Tops Online High Stakes Field with $6.2 Million Profits in 2013

Niklas ‘Ragen70’ Heinecker has proved unstoppable, once he entered the online high stakes field in 2013. The biggest loser was Gus Hansen.

Niklas ‘Ragen70’ Heinecker topped the online high stakes field in 2013 with $6,190,599 in profits in 65,577 hands. The German ace appeared at the high stakes tables of the re-launched Full Tilt Poker in May, which means he accumulated his winnings in just eight months. In comparison, Ben ‘Sauce123’ Sulsky took down the year 2012 with an annual total of $3,595,666 in profits.

‘Ragen70’ won the most of his money in draw games: $4,188,244 in 41,459 hands, but he also dominated the NLHE play with $2,149,223 in winnings in 20,546 hands.

Runner-up on the 2013 money list is last year’s fourth finisher Ben ‘Bttech86’ Tollerene with $2,996,585 in 117,730 hands. As usual, he would frequent PLO tables above all and generated the largest profit in the game, $2,337,509 in 97,339 hands. He is followed by NLHE cash game specialist Alex ‘IReadYrSoul’ Millar with $2,036,159 in profits in 32,976 hands. He played all but a single hand in his main game.

4th on the list is Hac ‘trex313’ Dang, who won an annual total of $1,886,417 in 80,869 hands, while the 5th and 6th positions are occupied by the same player as the year before: Ola Amundsgard earned $1,849,293 in 107,674 hands at Full Tilt Poker under his ‘no_Ola’ screen name and $1,805,454 in 113,199 hands at PokerStars as ‘Odd_Oddsen’, qualifying as the best player at the room. The PLO specialist Norwegian won most of his profits in his signature game.

Patrik ‘FinddaGrind’ Antonius finished in 7th place for his $1,764,977, which he won in 62,441 hands. ‘Tight-Man1’ followed with $1,448,413 in 13,157 hands, ‘proudlikeagoat’ with $1,391,472 in 26,817 hands and Isaac ‘luvtheWNBA’ Haxton with $1,051,218 in 26,571 hands.

The biggest loser of the year is Gus Hansen, a notorious title he “earned” for the second time in a row. In 2012, the Dane lost $3,204,539 in 63,686 hands, which he significantly underperformed this year with a total annual loss of $8,461,472 in 171,743 hands. Hansen is now the second biggest online high stakes loser of all time, just ahead of Guy Laliberté and his $14,872,745 lifetime loss in 1,371,711 hands.

The biggest pot of the year got in the middle on a 5-handed $250/$500 PLO table on 9 February:

‘Patpatpanda’ opened to $2,250 from UTG, ‘OMGClayAiken’ 3-bet to $8,000, ‘Bttech86’ and ‘punting-peddler’ folded but ‘durrrr’ and ‘patpatpanda’ called. The flop came 2Diamond TSpade 9Clubs, ‘durrrr’ bet all-in for $17,572, ‘patpatpanda’ raised to $77,167, ‘OMGClayAiken’ re-raised all-in for $259,078 and ‘patpatpanda’ called all-in with $255,530.
