Sunday Million 6th Anniversary with $6 Million Guaranteed
On 11 March, 2012, the PokerStars Sunday Million turns 6. To celebrate the anniversary, the guaranteed prize pool of the tournament will be $6 million.
Arguably the most important Sunday Major from PokerStars, the Sunday Million turns 6 next month. The market leader lives up to the expectations once again as the already huge prizes grow gargantuan: the guaranteed prize pool will be $6 million instead of the usual $1 million, while the winner is in for at least $1 million.
The event starts as usual (20:30 CET) with a direct buy-in of $215. It goes without saying that you can get your seat via satellites as well from as little as $1, including a special one directly before the Sunday Million with a guaranteed 1,000 seats up for grabs.
Details of the 6th Anniversary Sunday Million are as follows:
Name: Sunday Million 6th Anniversary
Time: 11 March, 2012, 20:30 CET
Id: 563020010
Buy-in: $215
Guaranteed prize pool: $6,000,000
Guaranteed first prize: $1,000,000
Team PokerStars Pro members will also participate in the 6th Anniversary event.
"My favourite memory of the big Sunday tournament on PokerStars is the time I finished 12th. This was my first really deep run in a tournament of this size, and I was so excited. There is a huge Sunday Million on March 11, with $1M guaranteed for first. It may not feel the same for me as the first time I went deep, but I'll be trying just as hard. See you there," Bertrand 'ElkY' Grospellier said.
The first Sunday Million was held on 5 March, 2006 with 5,893 participants and a $1,178,600 prize pool, $173,844 of which going to ’aaaaaaaa’ from the US as first prize. A total of 277 Sunday Million has been organised since with 2,116,513 registrations and a prize pool of $ $444,149,600 in all.
