WSOP 2014 Weekend Recap - Selbst and Shack-Harris are Champions

A whole range of WSOP 2014 events have been wrapped up during the weekend. Here are the highlights of the finales of Event #2 $25,000 Mixed Max and Event #3 $1,000 PLO.

Vanessa Selbst

Only the final heads-up remained for Day 4 of WSOP Event #2 $25,000 Mixed Max NLHE tournament with Vanessa Selbst and Jason Mo returning to the table. What made the clash even more interesting was a previous tweet from Mo, calling Selbst “so bad” after she eliminated Mo’s close friend Ryan Fee.

Jason Mo – 5,860,000
Vanessa Selbst – 3,960,000

At one point Mo was up 8,140,000 but Selbst managed to come back and took over the lead by taking a huge pot. She raised to 250,000 in a hand on Level 28 (15,000/60,000/120,000), Mo 3-bet to 750,000, Slebst called and the flop came THeart JDiamond 5Spade.Mo checked, Slebst bet 580,000 and Mo called. They both checked the QHeart turn but then Mo bet 1,315,000 on the 2Spade river. Selbst called and showed QClubs QDiamond against Mo’s ASpade QSpade to boost her stack to 7,290,000.

While Mo doubled up once again, Selbst managed to increased her lead and Mo eventually pushed for 2,535,000 in the last hand on Level 29 (20,000/80,000/160,000). Selbst called.
