Day 4 of the WSOPE 2013 €10,450 Main Event saw 24 players return with Spanish Adrian Mateos as chipleader, sitting behind a stack of 1,066,000. Play started on Level 18 (1,000/4,000/8,000) and Mateos delivered the first eliminations quickly: Ludovic Lacay and Jordan Cristos were out. Alain Bauer, Roman Romanovsky, Hans Martin Vogt, and Mark Teltscher followed, the latter shoving with JHeart JClubs against Jeremy Ausmus’ ADiamond KClubs and the latter getting a full house on the board.

Nevertheless, Ausmus followed soon: he check-called Mateos’ all-in on the 3Diamond 5Clubs JSpade TDiamond 3Clubs board. Mateos had JDiamond JHeart for a full house and Ausmus was out, leaving his opponent with over 2 million in chips. lavien Guenan, Ariel Celestino, Ognjen Sekularac and Adam Jerney were also eliminated.

The unofficial final table was formed when Fabrice Soulier’s pocket fours cracked Romain Kazarian’s nines. Before that, however, Dominik Nitsche won a pot of around 2 million in chips, eliminating Ivan Tikhov in 11th place; he 5-bet all-in for around 900,000 and Tikhov called, tabling QClubs QSpade. Nitsche held ADiamond AClubs and the board came neutral.

Moved to a single table, Daniel Steinberg shoved with pocket threes and Soulier called with K-Qs. The latter’s hand improved to top two pair and Steinberg was out in 9th. He was followed by Shannon Shorr, who moved all-in preflop, holding KDiamond KClubs and getting cooled by Mateos’ AClubs ADiamond. The Spanish player finished what he began at the beginning of the day by shoving on the TClubs JHeart AHeart 2Heart 5Spade board. Andrei Konopelko tanked and then called all-in to see Mateos’ ADiamond 2Clubs for two pair; Konopelko held JDiamond 9Heart.

Thursday is off for the finalists and the six of them return on Friday to decide the fate of the championship title.
