PokerTracker Declares War on Holdem Manager, Offers Discount
PokerTracker has launched a promotion to lure over Holdem Manager users, running through 5 May.
In early April, Holdem Manager announced that they cease to support HM1 as of 30 April 2014. This effectively means that players will be able to log in, use the software including the HUD but need to expect that no more updates will be released and bugs and crashes will not be fixed. Players owning the HM1 licence are eligible for a major discount on HM2: until 30 April, they can get it 40% cheaper.
The decision has not made the company very popular with a lot of players simply preferring HM1 to HM2. Apparently, arch rival company Poker Tracker decided to turn the situation to its own advantage, announcing that all Holdem Manager owners, whether they hold an HM1 or an HM2 licence, are entitled to a 40% discount on PokerTracker 4.
A lot of players claim PT4 is better than HM2 to begin with and has lower system requirements, which are good incentives for a lot of players to switch now, especially with the discount. The company launched the promotion on 25 April and it is running through 5 May, which means HM1 owners who for any reason fail to upgrade to HM2 for a lower price may opt to pick up PT4 instead.
PokerTracker launched a site for the promotion and asks for screenshots from players to verify their HM1 or HM2 licences. The “My Account” section at holdemmmanager.com must be captured with the visible date of purchasing the software, or a confirmation e-mail must be shown with the same information. Screenshots are accepted in JPG, PNG, TIFF, GIF, .DOC, DOCX, RTF and PDF formats.
The promotional prices are as follows:
PokerTracker 4 Holdem & Omaha $159,99 $95,99
PokerTracker 4 Holdem $99,99 $59,99
PokerTracker 4 Omaha $99,99 $59,99

PokerTracker 4 Omaha Small Stakes $59,99 $35,99
PokerTracker 4 Holdem & Omaha Small Stakes $99,99 $59,99
Upgrading from HM1 to HM2 costs the same:

Pro Version Hold'em $99,99 $59,99
Pro Version Omaha $99,99 $59,99
