Jeffrey Lisandro Wins His 5th Bracelet at WSOPE Event #2
The World Series of Poker continues, the second event has already ended, which was all about Pot Limit Omaha, in which Jeffrey Lisandro finished first. I wrote about Event #1 not so long ago, which was won by the 'Unabomber' Phil Laak, scoring his first WSOP victory.
At the Ł5,000 Pot Limit Omaha tournament, huge sums of money were won by the finalists, but a total of 18 players finished in the money. Lisandro, known to be one of the best Seven Card Stud players have won his first non-Stud title, and earned a total of £159,000 with his victory.
If you are not familiar with the man, or just don't know where you remeber him from, well, he’s the kind of man who defeated Daniel Negreanu and Nick Frangos en route to his first WSOP title, and beat Phil Ivey in heads-up at the $10K No Limit Hold’em WSOP circuit event. Lisandro was the first man to win all three Stud events in the same year at the 2009 World Series of Poker. He already had 4 WSOP bracelets (all in Stud) before his current victory.
The tournament keeps on rolling, Event #3, Ł1,075 No Limit Hold’em is currently being played and is nearing its end. So far it haven't brought much luck for players like Andy Bloch, Michael Mizrachi, Willie Tann, Men Nguyen or Jeff Madsen and it was kind to relatively newcomer players.
I will be back with some more info on Event #3 when the final table was played, and we have ourselves a Ł1.000 No Limit Hold'em bracelet winner, stay tuned!
The results of the Top 9 at the end of Event #2 are:
1. Jeffrey Lisandro – ₤159,514
2. Joe Serock – ₤98,262
3. Willie Tann – ₤71,184
4. Jeff Madsen – 52,542
5. John Racener – ₤39,486
6. Karl Mahrenholz – ₤30,192
7. Felipe “Mojave” Ramos – ₤23,478
8. Jeff Kimber – ₤18,564
9. Chris Bjorin – ₤14,916
